time, on "Wuthering Heights." I felt less alone; it may be I wrote him a note of appreciation. A couple of years later I found a "Wuthering Heights", all alone, in a soft leather green binding with a few of her poems.
Time went on. Then on "Invitation to Learning" the tale was brought up for discussion. One of the four panelists was a woman. She got to the root of the matter - what had puzzled me. The three men were vague; apparently afraid to commit themselves. Well, you know what has happened in late years. The "movie" was produced. Because Emily and I won free tickets on my birthday I agreed to go against better judgement. A beautiful screen play with a beautiful heroine but NOT "Wuthering Heights." Emily Brontë never wrote another tale. Neither did O'Sullivan. Now you know why I am going so slowly on "Twenty Years A-Growing." But, then, I will pick it up again and again, as I do "Wuthering Heights," when I need it. We thank you.
Sincerely, V. L. Sherman
