November 20, 1975 Kansas City, MO.

Dear Mr. Conroy, I recently read and enjoyed "Writers in Revolt: The Anvil Anthology, 1933-40" Through this excellent anthology I became interested in the life and work of H.H. Lewis about whom I have subsequently done considerable research with precious few results. These efforts have been hampered by the fact that most of Mr. Lewises work was published in magazines, such as your Anvil, which although fine efforts, are not now readily available. Biographical information is similarly not available or is most dated. I know little of Mr Lewises life or works after 1938, nor do I know if he is still living. I am most interested in any assistance you might give me toward answering these questions and I am particularly interested in your assessment of Mr. Lewises place in the literature of the 1930's. Please grant me the very great privelege of meeting with you to discuss these points. Should you grant this request the best time for me would be November 29 or 30, 1975 as I will be visiting my parents in Carrollton, Mo. that weekend- but please fit me in where most convenient for you.
