Aug. 31, 1950 Dear Jack, 

   And how are things at Yaddo?  Read in the Globe & heard from Nelson that you were up thar [sic], so decided to drop you a note.
    Things are popping on the crime front here.   Warden Chester L. Fardney is getting it in the neck regarding conditions at the County Jail & Boyle has demanded a grand jury investigation next month of the Whole thing.
