I am awfully rushed with final exams & grades, getting the garden planted, & setting up our trip to the Midwest. so, I write for
two quick purposes only.
First, I want to pick up one sentence in your letter of March 7 when you mentioned that if I ever get out your way I could drop in
to see you. My wife, Midge (I call her Midgie, or chicken) & I annually pilgrimage as far into the wilds as Indianapolis to visit her parents & relatives. and it happens that this particular year we are intent on taking an extra week to go on to Iowa & Missouri to see old friends & old nostalgic places. We met at a little Quaker college (Wm. Penn Col.) in Oskaloosa, Iowa, a town not too far north of you on a route you in Moberly must know well, US 63. I also spent some ^nine of my prime ^youthful months in Springfield, MO, in the federal pen with 20 other conscientious objectors in 1949 for refusal to have anything to do with Cold War conscription. Anyway, we will be in your environs
