Christmas '81 in pencil: Wolkenhauer, Jewel Dear Jack, Sorry to hear that Gladys has been so poorly. Perhaps there has been improvement since you wrote in August. I hope so./Thanks for sending Will Wharton's review of The Jack Conroy Reader - I loved it.| Of course I never hear anything about Std. Ed. - never did except from you - but mention if it recalls many memories. some are great - like recall of our little chats - And some are bad, like my rage at Fisk trying to talk down to you! He always lashed at his superiors in intellect, the rat./ Things going pretty well here - I had some health problems all summer but am back to just the usual aches + pains of arthritis. Shirley is doing very well. She'll see her 3 doctors next week for her 6 mo. check-up + then close to Jan 1 we'll take off for Arizona where we'll stay til about the end of May. (over)
