man such a letter as I wrote Brooks.
I have a keen feeling of the dislocation + uncertainty of your summer. Am I right?
For a few days I'll fish and work and try to get the swing back into my writing mind. The cloud of [unawareness?] and distraction will fade. There are so many books I need to write, pictures I need to paint. I shall keep at painting. It is a doorway out of much that is disordered in myself.
Believe me I do love you and your spirit. That is why I try to tell you what a shattered, disordered thing your letter finds me.
Sherwood.
