Feb. 20, 1949 Dear Mr. Conroy,

   I was very sorry to hear Esta was ill, and hope she is well again.  That was nice news you sent about James Light, though.  A doctor's degree!   Hmm.  Must remember not to drop my haitches when I speak to him.
  Thank  you for letting me know about the Follett Award.  The blank came yesterday, and I've been drooling ever since.  The closing date of the contest isn't until Sept. 1, so there will be plenty of time to try my hand at a brand new story.  Have an idea.  Hope it works out.  It will be for
