July 7, 1948 Dear Mr. Conroy,

Elizabeth Stewart very kindly said she liked underlined: The Seven Lucky Sweaters ("it's humor was unusual and appealing") (sweet!) but the list has been curtailed and she couldn't take the story so one must wait patiently for Der Tag, and go on writing. Couldn't stop now anyway. Herbert Snodgrass would hound me. I'm taking him to Nova Scotia with me, also Mrs. S. and the five children and will put them in another book.
Hope you have a happy summer, full of fun.
