Wednesday Dear old Sherwoodio:

Let's dont be embarassed by any fear that we get each other wrong. The only way in which you could hurt my feelings would be to kick me out and turn your back -- and even then I should hope that I had got you wrong.

It would be fun to be the joint author of a book with you -- but My name on that book, under the present circumstances would raise hell.

And perhaps I exaggerate that. I am moved to this suspicion by my irritation over a really excellent book that I am now reading "Isles of Illusion" edited by Bohun Lynch (Small Maynard & Co Boston) in which he conceals the name of the real author under the name "Asterisk." Why should Asterisk go to such trouble to conceal his identity from me? What egotism! And even under incognito the Editor declines to print a letter from Asterisk giving the particulars of his taking a South Sea Islander as "his woman."
