July 1926- Dear Bob - The robe came by mail yesterday. I have had the carpenter at work today making me a low box couch to sit by the fire. I shall spread the robe over it. For a long time I have wanted just such a place to lie down when I am weary from long seige of writing. But how elegant. It has just that extra look of under.....? luxury I so love. I got me a dog - an English setter - from a negro - a handsome beast (I mean the dog and he will I'm afraid fight me for the couch.
