     Dee Brown reports Vance Randolph still alive in a nursing home at Fayetteville, drinking his quart of Bourbon a day, they say, and his wife too.  Two quarts!!  in left margin with arrow pointing to this paragraph:  And my doctor frowns at one cocktail!
     Dee says he is getting old, can't remember nothing and it takes him longer to write a page now than it did to write ten pages a few years ago.  If he goes out to get something he can't remember what it was.  Sounds a bit like me, only not that bad.  Ice frozen on walks today - fell once with a fifth of Canadian Club, didn't break nothing though and picked myself up.  Serve me right for going out this kind of weather!!  But if I wait for weather to change I'd never get out.
   A&P closing tonight.  Nice store, I did all our shopping there.  Now have to go to Grand Union, but they have Molson's Ale, or did.  Things are getting rougher and rougher for us golden oldies, and that's a fact.
    Guess old Rayford is just about holding his own.  Wish I was in Mobile and could drop by and cheer him up - iffen I could.  Will try and get the book you mentioned at liberry, but doubt if they have it.
