it can't be worn right away. The petticoats that I made after my regular pattern are about 29 inches long and the slip pattern in the same outfit corresponds to it. The dresses that I bought are only 27 inches, so perhaps I shall have to take a tuck in the petticoats or merely make the others shorter. Do you think a baby ought to wear two petticoats at a time? I think that in summer, anyway, just the one made of flannelette will be enough. I made an awfully pretty little sacque of the flannelette and worked the edges (that is, around the sleeves, neck, etc) in briar stitch with blue crochet cotton. It makes a very pretty trimming. Mrs. Wilson, the lady upstairs, showed me the stitch and I am sure it will come in very handing for trimming the sacque and kimonos. I am getting on very well with my sewing and enjoy it immensely.
