enclosed. I hope to hear from him some time though. The Kansas City jaunt may have been a minor turning point in my life, it has swung me from a straight African emphasis in my Ph.D. work to an African-Caribbean interest. I met several of the writers and critics at the meeting who gave me both advice and encouragement. I have also sent off my thesis on East African Drama to the KC group. The offered to publish parts or all of it. Cross you writer's fingers for me. Even though I told you that I am not too fond of committing myself to paper, I may end up a writer yet. I still hope to emphasis the teaching end of English, however. I must admit that I did some checking on you after we left. Our library here has most of your books, I believe. I did not have a complete list of your publications but was glad to see that you were well represented on the shelves. Thanks again for the poster and the warm reception in Missouri.

Fondly, Marion Gilliland P.S. Am looking forward to spending my summers "break" with you - at least on paper. M.
