My dear Sherwood Anderson; I am very glad that you are always well and striving after your work. We (Me, M. Takagaki and I) have been quite eager to make your works known to Japanese, because we believe your works are among the highest of the world. I made a lecture titled "On Sherwood Anderson" at Waseda University in April of the last year. And wrote an article on Sherwood Anderson on the "Jiji Shimpo" last January, which is the one of the five biggest newspapers of Tokoyo. Mr. Takagaki are always writing about American literature on several magazines and never misses a chance to mention your name and your works. Last autumn he made a lecture through radio on the works of Sherwood Anderson. And now we think we have at last succeeded
