I am delighted to get your letter. I am in the throw of writing the Herbst paper, and only last week I re-read

your letter. Again I must thank you for your help. Your suggestion to contact Malcolm Cowley was invaluable. In my thesis I am treating your novel, "The Disinherited". In contrast to J. Herbst "Rope of Gold" it succeeds where hers failed. Next year I shall be teaching English at a near-by high school. High schools are beginning to introduce seminars for honor students.
