Dominguez Hills is a new college whose library facilities are as yet limited. I shall check U.C.L.A. library for the periodicals you suggest. Failing that, I shall write to the Library of Congress.

Thank you for saying that I may write to you as my thesis develops. I shall do so. I think we are entering into a period where the 1930's will be

studied and r e-evaluated. Until now, it was too terrible and too close. I find two polarities of mind in the writing of that period - One I call the anti-life kind of mind. The other represented by you, is surprisingly close to what the best of minds of the younger generation are saying. The phrase 'the new Life style' emphasizes life at its fullest and most compassionate. As I said, you would understand it very well.

Sincerely,
Kathleen R. Smith
