4819 W. 139th ST. Hawthorne, Calif. 90250 July 2, 1970 Dear Mr. Conroy,

I am planning to write my thesis for the Masters Degree in American Literature on fiction published

During the Depression. Perhaps I can impose on your kindness and ask you where I could find magazines such as Anvil and Rebel Post which you edited. I grew up during the Depression, and I seem never to have escaped it physically or economically. Now I have returned to college. I want to view that period through the eyes of the poets and writers who found a voice in the little magazines.

Your book The Disinherited is in my belief a great book.
Sincerely yours,
Kathleen R. Smith
