Dear Jack - 

   Glad your [sic] feeling good to have escaped the flu.  Nearly everyone has it.  It's [sic] been keeping me busy.
   Betty & I are doing fine considering everything.  We didn't have our usual big New Years party this yr. -  Just a few old friends.  We used to have parties & have 80 to 100 guests but it was a lot of trouble & they ate & drank so much & messed up our house too much so we have given it up.   They used to stay all night & just wear us
