Leaving Brown after a week and heading toward Sherman, Connecticut this afternoon to see Malcolm Cowley. Spent a day and a half in Columbus with Joseph Vogel; spent Saturday afternoon on Martha's Vineyard with Dorothy West. Heading today for second, longer visit to Beinecke Library to look at more correspondence. Found good underlined: Anvil, Rebel Poet letters here and will see more at Yale. Been set up for New York with some old party people. In Providence my host, Harry Williams, who visited you last month, set me up with George Bass, Langston Hughes' longtime personal secretary, who ?round symbol with line? sorted as Hughes.
