1/31/65 Dear Jack -

   I told you I would use your underlined:  Disinherited in my novel course - and I am.  Now I read in one of the reviews of the reprint that you rewrote parts of it for the H&W edition.  I don't have easy access to the first edition, so write to ask you if it is true that you did rewrite.
   This is not very important, but I would be interested in trying to check this out.  Besides, you may be sure those students are going to ask me.   And I'd like to give them an honest, true, answer.
