postcard pencil notation in top margin [1958] Erisman, Robert

Dear Jack: greatly appreciated your sending our "Laughing Frontier;" my wife and I both enjoyed having another good hunk of Conroy copy; have re=read your books repeatedly, wanting this. Reason I've responded so slowly, and reason this note isn't typewritten, is I got landed another good wallop. for the past year they've been coming thick and fast but this took the cake. Some nervous business paralyzed my whole left side, so that I had to give up good newspaper job I'd waited 6 months for, and pass up good Civil Service job I'd put in for recently (technical writer, at nearby Navy Underwater Lab.). so I'm immobilized, wife trying to earn our living, never having worked before. Neurologist won't predict when and if paralysis will end: Charming. Bob
