2-19-60 Dear Jack,

How is the bucolic life? I hope it is bucolic enough for this to reach you despite the lack of street address.
The snow was nice for 3 days and then it became a great pain in the ass. You got out just in time.
I have a piece coming out in the Chi. Tribune Sunday Magazine on Kurt Vonnegut and his books and a class of his at Iowa. Got $125 for it. I sent it there because that mag. seems quite good now-a-days and, I don't think it is sour grapes, but Panorama seems dead since Kogan left. One Anthony Monahan accepted the piece. Said he didn't know when it would appear but I'm expecting it any week.
You heard Algren got caught in an auto with some pot? Don't know how serious that is, or was. Are you writing? What?
I am going to N. Africa in April to catch foxes. Really.
