27 Oct 1951.

Dear Jack: With Labour licked in London - and Joe Louis washed up I feel quite down. I am somewhat cheered by a flattering inscription in my copy of "Chicago - City on the Make" - from the author - Nelson "Big Monkey" Algren. I enclose an AA report from Dublin, Ireland. With Red Crayon I've encircled a lively bit of Irish history. - bone dry - Joe Diggles
