in pencil in top margin: Dorinson, A.

10-11-55 Dear Jack

They love Slappy Hooper and the Fast Sooner Hound in the Heights - as I found out when talking to the librarian of the children's section!* So much so that she wondered if you'd talk to the kiddies - what with National Book Week coming on and all. Catch - no money involved. If you could possibly be interested in such an unexciting proposal - a formal invite will be forthcoming.
Incidentally, the Dorinsons invite you (not formally) to view a semi-fitted Dorinson house - our own - 1746 W. 189th St., Homewood, Ill. We are here, building; you pick a date if you can find one, because here we are,
  • They have a Carnegie Library.
