Shalersville Feb 11, 1858 Dear Cousins I have neglected writing to you so long, that I almost persuaded myself to night that that I had written. M in her last letter said she had just heard from you and had given up expecting a visit from you I am sorry, for I want you to get acquainted with our folks - it would seem as if we were better acquainted- Do you not get lonesome sometimes? I presume M has told you I am teaching I have only a small school fourteen scholars Some of them are large and some small. It is my first experience in this line, and expect it will do me much good - mentaly [sic] and morally I find that it already makes me more watchful
