The way of transgressions is hard. Upon him who grossly violates the physical laws of his being the Judge in this life visits his judgments. a foretaste of that eternal punishment which awaits the wicked. In the drunkards miserable life and terrible death we see the displeasure of God as clearly as we do that of the civil aim in the public execution of the murderer.
