No furloughs are granted in the army if the Cumberland except in cases of sickness and indeed I am no anxious to go home, till my Country's difficulties are settled and when we do go back [crossed out] then we will not have to return. Nearly a year of my time is up now it being 10 months tomorrow since we were sworn with the service, and although it is a long time not to see our friends, the time has flew quickly by.
