health is good. the Army is fighting constently the Enemy have a very strong position I fear it cannot be turned they are strongly fortified their line must be broken by assault which is a very nice thing if successfull but disasterous if it fails Genl McPherson made demonstration on the fifteenth (15) inft to draw the attention of the Enemy while Genl Thomas got his troops in position it resulted in quite an engagement we captured (350) prisoners besides the Killed
