  Perhaps Artesian wells might be sunk at the head of valley which would Ensure a continuous stream.  13 miles over 6 or 8 ranges of hills   Each valley having water  holes ? to take rains & drinkable ? in the Cañada del Guadalupe   Timber here makes its appearance & water holes larger & long.  To this good sheep ranges - if one could be assured of protection - pushed against Indians - grass mesquit & Altho' large quantities of cactus & some unclear
