Vicksburg March 13 1864 Beloved Brother We have been back from our expedition for several days and I intended to have written you before. We had a very hard march but a pleasant time. Several very nice little fights but no very large ones. I expect to be home about the first of April. Then I will give you a full account of what was accomplished. I am delighted to think that I shall be at home so soon. My story may be necessarily very short.
