Tuesday 14. Mr Lewin came for us before day light with his dogs - started but did not come up with other hunters - We anticipated a fox-hunt, but they only had a deer in chase, this we knew by their rapid change of position & great distances run - The Fox (Grey & small) when he breaks cover dogges about & when hard pressed by the dogs, trees it that is he climbs a tree, but has to descend, for that position is not comfortable to him, then the dogs take him - Raining hard all day - bad cold and fever - kept bed all day - took ? Pills - very weak -
