General Houston has always acted upon a peace policy & from the moment he re-entered the Presidency his acts at home & abroad appears to have had that tendency & although he has been much violently ? for this line of conduct by the opposition, the thinking part of the nation has supported him, but General Houstons fitting out Jacob Sniveley's expedition to maraud upon Santa Fe, I do not understand.

   This 2nd Santa Fé expedition was to be reinforced by a Mr Warfuts & a large party of Americans from the States who it is said had a military commission from President Houston.   But the American Government knocked Jacob Snively's expedition into a cocked hat, & it is pretty clear that the United States Dragoons came into Texas & made them prisoners -
