3 Barnet acting in his stead. In the interim Congress disbanded the army, & this a large number of military men were now ready to join any enterprize. LaMar returned to Texas and was anxious to carry out his favorite project & moreover it was generally popular - although LaMar's political opponents ? the expedition down but, success was anticipated.
