70/C 1 Exactly How I Obtained a Title.

  During one of my journeys into the interior in company with a friend, we were benighted on ___ creek.   After wandering about a considerable time we espied a light in the distance, & made for it.   On approaching the Log-home we heard a ? altercation as of between a man & his wife - this turned out to be Emigrants from Emerald isle -
  '? now Judy youre not in auld Ireland now, be ? or I'll be after showing ye - you being in a free country, & that I'll get a divorce from Sam Houston'
  'Denis, Dennis is that the way you speak to her you for so many years called your own darlint Judy - and as it divorce you mean - and would you go and leave and another woman before the mother of your children was under the sod' how the poor woman burst out tears.   At this junction we arrived before the log-house & requested hospitality for the night.
  'I am ? who are ye, & where do you come from' said Dennis.   I told our host & that I was from the 'ould country'  Sobbing & tears Judy, commenced preparing Supper - when both at intervals made known their gripes.  My companion by some chance or other called me accidentally 'Judge'
