3 Bull - May their Shadows never be less - & they are not ? My prayer is that we may in time know one another better - Fraternize & Whip the world when they ? it - But to the letters again. We Americans as yet do not ? such letters as King ?, Duke, Marquis, ? &c - but say 'The Earl & Countess of Alabama's carriage stops the way" this would be pretty enough - but doubt any of our good ? Friends - will General, Col, Cap'n or Judge By G-- Let's cheerfully give you a drink & such a thing is particularly good in hot weather - I have ? found then the English & Americans quarrel - that it is because they do not understand each other - & sometimes their high-fire blood will take command - let one or the other say it 'may be so' & not 'it is so' and their ? swear by each other to the eternal d___ to of Johnny Croppand & all other nations - We like letters & why shout they not -- they have in a Fine Country & why not treat Friend as such as anybody else
