RIPSHIN FARM Troutdale, VA

    Sunday Sept. 1939

Dear W..? Winifred Bland -

What a very delightful and generous letter you have sent me. How could I help being

pleased. I am taking the liberty of sending it to Mrs Anderson to read. She is in New York and will mail it to you from there. That any thing a ?ear? writes really touches others is as you would canaer?, a great joy. I hope ??, when I am in New York. I shall have the pleasure of meeting you. I shall keep your address and when I am in the city shall drop you a note.

 Gratefully
  Sherwood Anderson
