Preached at Goshen. Dec^br 25. 1768 --

Mat: 16.18. -- Upon this Rock I will build my Church; and ye Gates of Hell shall not prevail against it.

As related in ye Content, our blessed Savior, at a certain time, made Inquery of his Disciples, whom men said, if he Gd Son of Man was? having received their ?, he ye question till lufas? to ye Disciples themselves, saying, that whence say you that I am? Peter in ye name of them all replies; Man and Ct [Christ] ye Son of ye living God. Ct pronouncing him blessed beneques? and intimates ye ?sly of his being called Peter, a name he had before given [[them?] ]and signifying, as Have? as a Rock - When from this a cecf ces,v inting to and Meaning? himself. ? he makes ye following Declaration - Upon this Rock I will build my Chh [church] &c

herein be speaks of himself as ye foundation of his Chh church, and if his desyn design of Building it thereon. Upon this Rock  will I build my Chh of those we shall not treat at useful?.  heaven also is an Intimation or Puedcheen? of Covestion? that should be ?
