? & Crt first - Had a ? build a raft of three irregular logs of cedar & cross pieces under & around together into a large drawing of log raft Camped at the general camping place - ½ a mile below is another crossing - 5 or 6 Leagues above is the road General Wood entered Texas in 1842 & is generally fordable. We have now entered upon our Grant but 2 miles above & 7 below the crossing is Surveyed by others. on the ? bank of this river are portions that are low & during heavy freshets (which rise sometimes 50 & 60 feet) overflowing & this low parts become sloughs this is not the case on one side of the river which is generally higher - ? pretty good
