  At a small distance from the Mouth of the San Jacinto River is Old River some 5 Miles up - here the [?] are of recent ?] -
  Big Creek some 20 Miles below Swarthout - And East St. Jacinto runs this the forks of what is [2 unclear words] as Big creek - The Cross Timbers [?] N. Westerly & S. Easterly & not as ? as running N & S & more to the Westward.   The Courses of the Rivers in the west appear to be erroneously laid down -
