This certificate, those indians had & I saw it & tooke a coppy of & I spoke with Capt wheler before his death & hee owned it Besides James Richardson now Leiftenant Lieutenant belonging to the Army & landing at chelmsford & sevral others that were in that action & are yet alive owned the same thing, & morever Both Capt wheler & Leiftenant Lieutenant Richardson, Informed me that the two indians Before named; Told Capt Hutchinson: before the indians perfideously assuulted yr company, that they nevr doubted the fidelity of the nipmuck indians, & feared they would bee treachourous, & earnestly persuaded Capt Hutchinson & the Rest not to adventure? to goe to them at the swamps; & gave them some demonstrations of it, for they u? & English have sent us Day before the mischife & they then observad that which was aground of their fears.

But the Captaine being a man of spirit & -intent upon his trust, would proceed & so lost not only his owne life but a thers also, for though he was not kild upon the place yet

hee died of his woonds soone after, but this shows the prudense & fidelity of those chh'an christian Indians; yet notwithstanding All this servise they were with others; of chrn Indians through the harsh dealing & of some English In a manner constramed for want of Shelter protection & encouragement to fall to the em'my at Hassunmefit the story whereof follows in its place & -one of them vizt Sampson was Slaine in fight by some scouts
