about Hassannamesit two companies of Engl[ish?] soldiers were dispatched away into those parts one commanded By Capt Daniel Henchman & the other by Capt Joseph Sil, this last took with him for guides 5 naticke Indians, wh[en?] they came to Hassanamesit, they found sign of the enimy But could see no considerable company of them. But Capt Syll being at -- at Hassanamesit the 6th of November hearing a noyse Early in the morning sent forth two files of men, with two Indians viz James -- Qwanapohit & Eliazer pegin, they had not gon far But they discovered seaven of the enimy & one of them leading an English man, the enimy discovering our men fled But the Indians James & Eliazer pursed them so close & firing upo[n?] the man that led the English youth. her was forc[ed?] to leave his prisoner & they reskued him & brou[ght?] him to their captaine, also James the Indian rec.. a muskt from the enimy, at the same time. this unclear whose name was Christopher Muchin was thus let? from the barborus enimy by the courage & activty of our Indian
