At the above ceremonies being ended, the people were at liberty to retire. All the family members then repaired to a river or creek and plunged entirely seven times as at the great feast, and then laid aside their wet clothes, & put on clean & dry garments in their stead: and devoted the day to entire abstinence. At night, the meat being cooked, and the mush made of fine meal, - the only kind of bread which could be eaten with that meat, being ready, all the family - crossed out partook together.
