I see that you are getting to be quite a business "man" talking of "$1200 bargains" "private terms," etc. I am glad to hear of the material prosperity of all our folks, and I should like to hear of a corresponding [crossed out] of [end crossed out] increase and growth in things of a spiritual and enduring nature, but I am afraid that they forget the greater riches which ["moths" ?], etc. We are having beautiful weather with an occasionally showery day, but it is warm enough without a fire most of the time. I made a few biscuit and baked them in a dutch oven (a deep skillet with a lid with a rim, on which to lay coals.) they were as good as I expected, but baked a little too fast.
