My former statements have been in broken fragments. & very defective. I think also that, I shall be able if God will, to furnish you, directly or indirectly by means of another person an historical sketch of the sufferings & of the Cherokees during the past. But the above communications cannot be forward from here, it is possible, under two, three, or four weeks. In the close of this scrawl, Dear Sir, permit me still to commend the poor Indians to your continual attention & regard.
