15 After the dance is over the person or persons adopted are invited by their new relations to a private place, where they receive the different articles that formerly belonged to the deceased. Also the articles that was given by the neighbors was by way of adoption. They are then told that they are one of the family, and are entitled to the same authority and respect, that the person was when living whose place they fill.

 When a common man, woman or child dies, the adoption is performed by a few persons of  both sexes. If it was a male, they shoot at a mark, run foot races, and jump; if a female, they play at some fame that she was fondest of when living.
    Transaction of Private business.

When any important business comes before a Chief, he assembles the heads of families or eldest men and lais the subject before them and requests their deliberation on it. Immediately after the attendent on, or aidecamp to the chief explains the nature of the subject and gives his opinion; should the councillers concur
