inasmuch as our board meeting was not held until the past week.

  At that time the board members decided - most enthusiasticly sic - that they would like to have you present a talk on your "specialty"- American literature and Social problems.
 Could you appear for our program at 8 p.m. on Tuesday evening April 22, 1947? (4th Tues. of month)  We can arrange at a later time to meet you and take you from depot to the meeting place, etc. 
 What would be your fee for such an appearance? We can afford a small stipend and traveling expenses. 
 We would appreciate being able to complete these arrangements before our yearbook goes to press the first of October.
