6/ peppy lately. The cold weather seems to stupify instead of exhilarating, though I walked to town yesterday and left another book with Miss Avis for the library. The one I left there some weeks ago Mazinis' The Vatican in Politics, Mrs. Cartie? is so pleased with that she has loaned it to three other women before it goes to the library. Hope she will do the same with this for it is just as important, showing the harm it does to the school children in this awful Defense business.
I hope Virginia is really improving - Maybe she would be worse if she didn't have the stimulant of her card-playing friends. I didn't get to the art exhibit as it rained that day
and I wasn't feeling too brick - Have not seen Mrs. Beyer since, either. Cora Wray and her cousin Clara Catou and her twin brother Clarence Tolman, were here Sunday, and he said the exhibition was very good. As he can't be considered an art critic, I have yet to find out how good it was. Nice letter from Martha, Thanks for all clippings - Warming up this aft - Much love, Mother
