Dearest Mum:

 It is about time I was acknowledging the fruit, before it is all eaten. Arrived very promptly a day before the letter in which you said you were sending it.

All was in fine shape and lovely fruit. Much sweeter and juicier than the store fruit.

 Had Frances Crisler over to take lunch with me the day it arrived and served some then.
  Yes, Papa's taste in wearing apparel has not varied over the years.
