Dearest Mummer:
X enclosed. Helen left for Chicago this morning. Has to meet her husband and talk things over with him. Has given up idea of having kindergarten, but believes would like
to spend winter here as governess. In fact has had an offer of a position from a Mrs. Sturges who lives on Hillside Ave. at Mt. Clair, in that big house on the north side of the street. Plenty of customers who need her for several hours each week to take care of children, so either way could make her way. Kindergarten would not be successful because of high rent, in winter especially, because of coal, and janitor service. Could hardly charge more than $5 00 per month for each child and could not do justice to more than 20.
Guild Hall has been renting for $4 00 a half day and other places proportionately, so you see it wouldnt pay.
