Mummie, are you still a substitute teacher or have you a regular appointment? Is it necessary for you to pass an examination to teach?

Was much interested in your M.C. program. Is the home talent pretty good or mediocre? How did the young man render the "Mother" song? It was very popular in Chicago about three months ago and was sung in almost every vaudeville act where they could squeeze a song in edgewise.
I attended a meeting of the Socialist Womens League last Saturday at the Masonic Temple. Comrade Madsen spoke on socialist, tracing its growth from the time before Marx and Engels appeared on the scene, and mentioning all the men who took an active part in developing the movement. He told more of the history side than you here in the average lecture. Saw a number of people you know, all of whom asked about you - Miss Pischel, Mrs. Howe, Mrs. Madsen, Mrs. Sissman, and Mrs. Kennedy. Wish you were both here to take a walk with me now. Lots & heaps of love Tafern.
